I’m still recovering from katsucon.
But I did update the cosplay site, with new costume junk and a con report! There weren’t many stories to tell, but you can read what I did those few days anyway.
Belldandy came out much better than I expected. I was so frustrated over the wig I wondered if I would even wear the stupid thing at the convention. But it ended up being my favourite costume so far. Besides the fact I was practically barefoot, the dress was sooo comfortable. (I love the swish-swish noises all the layers make when I walk!) The wig wasn’t so bad – I held the ponytail in front of me most of the time which took the weight off. The only thing that bugged me were the bobbie pins lining the front of it (there were at least 20). They started to hurt after a couple of hours.
Chun-Li – Chun Li was fun to wear! I didn’t think so many people would respond to it… I mean, it’s been DONE a gazillion times. But people really love this character, I guess. Much to my relief the hairbuns stayed on (never fell off). The dress was v. comfortable. The boots started to hurt after a while, but I LOVE the way they look. I still kept hitting myself with the wristbands… but they did NOT fall apart as I expected them to! One little spot of yellow lining on the bottom of the dress came undone… but that’s easily fixed.
Amalthea – As I said in my con report, I’m surprised at how many people recognized this. I only expected maybe 1 or 2 people (people who I had already told what it was!) to know it. The best part was when this guy started yelling “unicorn!! unicorn!!” after me, lol. I’ve already talked about how tight this dress is – but apparently I lost weight over weekend (living on pringles will do that to you) and it was easier to put on sunday than friday, lol. I’m not wearing this again til Dragoncon. It’s not exactly the epitome of comfort.
Eternal Jupiter Um, long story short, my back ribbons got ripped off. I used the pin from my choker to pin them back on, but then had to go find another pin to put the choker back on. (and, of course, got a bunch of pictures taken while choker-less). One of the ribbons on the gloves started to come off but managed to hang on… will have to fix that.
But the response to this costume was fabulous.
Utena’s White Uniform – Everything worked well on this costume, until very late sunday when one of the medals fell off. Easily fixed. The jacket is a little annoying – the collar wants to fold off, the sleeves are a tad short and it wants to ride up a bit. But other than that. Still didn’t find an Anshi to take pictures with… one day.
Everything else…
Rally was the most comfortable of my costumes. I wore it 3 times! I also met up with an awesome guy as Bean Bandit and got pics with him.
Arwen was only worn for maybe 20 minutes… too hot. Same for Hermione, but I’m disappointed there cause there were a lot of great other HP costumers (including a really good Draco) I would have loved to have gotten pics with. Urd got maybe an hour, tops. I’m getting better at putting that on, lol.
I wish I had taken something like my first bat Sakura or Xiaoyu… something to bum around in. If I had known I was going to be stuck there sunday and monday I would have! Ho well.

I don’t think I’m going to do Yuna’s FFX-2… so many people doing it already. I mean it’s neat looking and all, but…eh. I do plan on finishing Yuffie in the next couple of months and having that ready for Akon too.
For AX I am definitely doing Morrigan cause ash is going to do BBHood/Bulleta. We are gonna rock. If anybody wants to join us in the masq as darkstalkers charas let me know. I am also going to do asuka’s plugsuit. And Gryffindor Quidditch uniform. I can’t wait to do that. I’m gonna burn up at AX in that!! LOL.
